Meet Katie Brown ... The lady behind Miss Penny Green
"I think it's beautiful the way you sparkle when you talk about the things you love" -Atticus

Indianapolis, Indiana based artist, Katie Brown, has been enjoying the process of creating all things art her entire life, however more officially making a business of it under the name of MISS PENNY GREEN, since 2009.
Originally, a paint-your-own-pottery studio owner, she discovered multiple passions and skills including painting, teaching, as well as encouraging and inspiring others to enjoy the process of creating and using their imaginations. With this list of interests and experience, Katie sold her shop and blended her passions by starting her teaching career. By day, Katie teaches art to grades kindergarten through eighth and has been enjoying working in her grade school alma matter since 2010. When she's not in the classroom or painting in her home studio, she is enjoying time with her husband, (and number one supporter), Steve and snuggling with their dog Hazel.
Katie typically uses a bright color pallet with acrylic paint on canvas and the occasional watercolor or portrait drawing. Her artwork may evolve or vary in terms of subject matter, however the inspiration has remained the same; fond memories of childhood. The work can't help but induce feelings of nostalgia and make you smile.
